FAB winners of the Citizen & Gloucestershire Echo 2008 e-business award!

Wow!!  We couldn't be happier!  Last night (9th October 2008) FAB were awarded the e-business award at the Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo 2008 business awards ceremony at Cheltenham Racecourse.  It was a truly amazing night.  Accolades were handed out in 13 categories.  FAB were finalists of the small business of the year award and winners of the e-business of the year award.  Below is a section from the west business website, for the full article and video footage see their website;

Business awards winners announced

WINNERS of The Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo's Business Awards were announced last night in front of a packed house at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Celebrations topped the night as accolades were handed out in 13 categories in what was the 11th year of Gloucestershire Media's annual awards.

e-Business Award, sponsored by the South West of England RDA

FAB by name and by deed! Fab Recycling Ltd has carried off the South West RDA-sponsored e-Business Award.
 Now the UK's leading supplier of used spares for BMW cars, it has grown over 16 years from one man breaking cars on his drive to one with a purpose-built 2.5 acre site, 20 employees and a turnover topping £1.4 million.
Fab buys 600 damaged BMWs from British owners a year and sells the parts world-wide to individuals, dealers and repair shops.
The Forest of Dean Enterprise was also the first UK-based used BMW parts business to launch its own website – just over a year ago – a move still helping broaden its global customer base.
With hits from 116 countries a month, the site is selling parts on line as far afield as Africa, Argentina and Australia.
Now it is looking at links with insurers to use recycled BMW parts in the insurance repairs market.
Fellows Media Ltd, and 310k Internet Solutions Ltd also made the final frame.

Ultimate BMW Show - Santa Pod

It was a beautiful day at Santa Pod, the sun was shinning and the crowds were out in force.  The show was exclusively for BMWs and their owners.  Santa Pod's famous 1/4 mile track was used for the 'Run What Ya Brung' competition, and displayed some of Bavaria's finest.  There was a good mix of concours classics with modern modified monsters!  Santa Pod's 270mph Firefource 3 Jet Furry Car drew in the crowds reaching speeds of over 261mph as it went over the finish line!!

At the fabdirect stand we held a competition to win a limited edition M3 model set worth over £200!  It was free to enter, you just had to sign up for our monthly e-newsletter.  The winner of the competition was drawn by Paul Wager the editor of Total BMW Magazine.  The winner of the model set was Richard Cowen, the proud owner of a BMW 6 Series.

This years BMW Festival was a rather windy event, but despite the winter weather there was a good turn out, and yet again it was one of the highlights of BMW owners calender.
